We, the SS14 community, have borne years of unjust treatment under the reign of the tyrant PJB as she has unfairly dehubbed servers, insulted contributors, organized coups and silenced criticism. While we applaud PJB handing control to someone else, we do not feel that a successor chosen among only the in-group will result in any meaningful change.
Thus, we hold this mock election in protest, open to all SS14 players, contributors, and staff. As an open source project, the succession should be open to the entire community to participate in. Not limited to only the in-group to decide amongst themselves, not limited to only those who have not been banned from the game’s social spaces due to our criticism. We hold this mock election in protest and in encouragement of a more fair, democratic process.
As someone who has >1,500 hours on SS14 and someone who worked on servers hosted by Peptide: he is a very fair host and doesnt strong-arm people into doing his bidding or to follow a narrative.
He puts community freedom and creativity first and that should be the most important aspect in a community-devved game.
He has my endorsement and should have yours too.
He could be the next John Spacestation and is not deserving of the amount of slander he has received in the past.
Hi, I’ve been in community for a while now, contributed to couple forks a bit, such as Frontier, even tho I was blocked on SS14 discord for criticizing when their own Admin consistently broke their own set of rules I kept going back to the game on community servers
I’m strictly against the wizden’s “inner circle gets a pass for anything” policy, they hurt many people and I wish there was an actual, legal punishment (read jail, for mental damage and all the insults and controversy) for PJB and his inner circle
That aside, since that’s not possible the next best thing is to vote them out
I vote Peptide since they know what they are doing, after them Skye is my second-best vote, so if Peptide was not to be picked for some serious reason, Skye Is next in line
