Simplicity

I also will say I do agree with MIT being a bit better then AGPL, as someone who has grown up with AGPL codebases in ss13 for a long while… yeah I find MIT more preferrable as well, after learning more about it and such

My statement regarding some experienced users preferring simplicity was not intended to be interpreted as all experienced users.

Obviously, some experienced people will prefer more complex mechanics, and that’s perfectly okay <:

If a license restricts usage in any way, I don’t consider it truly open source. ;p

alright then, so technically speaking you’re like a open source absolutist? (I don’t mean it as a insult, just I feel like that’s how I can describe on how you feel on this?)

I don’t mind proprietary projects.

I like open source projects.

But there are legitimate reasons for proprietary projects to exist, and I recognize that.

What I don’t like is misleading licenses that end up entraping others legally, that advertise and praise themselves to be open source, while restricting how their code can be used or restricting the possibility of license changes without unanimous consent (or removal of) all contributors to relicense their contributions.

That’s bull. That sucks. That’s not open source.
