Personally, I don’t see any potential in EE.

TCJ keeps trying to get into legal hotbox fights, and there’s fundamental problems with how EE grew in the first place.

Here’s the problem, unless you intend to stay on AGPL, a lot of stuff will have to either be replaced, or deleted entirely.

Personally, AGPL feels restrictive, like a trap, and most people won’t go through the inconvenience of hard-removing any association to that license once they realize their mistake.

Obviously things are better open source, but the whole point of open source is to avoid restricting what others can do.

There’s legitimate reasons to use content for. Commercial purposes, like selling Mothroach plushies

KZlevels also is abandoned. But Moony or someone doesn’t like, when i use some content from theirs work. I know, it is looks not good taking someone work and use it on your own. But that authors doesn’t have any plans on their own work, they just privatized it. GPL is disease, virus, like and AGPL or MPL.

Funny sh*t. I don’t have any methods to use all of that in commercial. It just a private work for some group of people. But they have another opinion.

Personally I just prefer MIT, azalea is staying on MIT.

In the far future, I plan to figure out which assets are commercially restricted, and put in a low priority side-project to replace those assets.

If something is open-sourced from - it is all free. Under WTPFL, under Unlicensed, whatever. I don’t like dramas or striking, i already had this experience

The future I imagined for SSMV is a lot more open, I just want to offer a solid community and server where people can just enjoy the game, with solid MRP standards and custom content

Complex mechanics don’t make the round unique as much as players do.

There’s something I just realized.

While you might not be required to follow copyright laws, it is legally possible for a copyright author to send a DMCA demand to Skye, to have your servers dehubbed. For violating the terms of AGPL

Depending on the country which Skye resides in, and where the hub is hosted, they may be legally obliged to comply

welllll imo as a ss13 veteran honestly… I have been super used to complex mechanics and shit in ss13 for a long while before I even got into ss14 that…

well I am not of that opinion, I mean I am an experienced player but that doesn’t mean I desire more simple mechanics. I mean what originally attracted me to og ss13 in the first place was because of it’s complexity and funny shenanigans that can happen in it and how it is open source (yes og ss13 is also open source, just the game engine isn’t open source, just because byond isn’t open source doesn’t mean ss13 is closed source, when in reality it’s open source but only in a codebase for ss13 server level basically)

and while I may disagree on being favorable towards simplicity, I can understand where you’re coming from (again I admit I only started playing ss14 in the beginning of 2025, and I started playing the og ss13 back in 2017) but yeah
