This is a neutral forum post that seeks to gain opinions regarding changes wizden might be making to greentext (and potentially pinktext) on MRP servers. Please be respectful on this thread.
Because wizden does not allow public discussion of code changes without being in a special discussion whitelist group, this post is being made to allow public discussion of these changes.
The responses and poll in this post will likely determine weather these changes are merged or reverted on azalea.
With all that said, please read and review the following posts before contributing your opinion to this thread:
Wizards den is currently in the process of discussing the removal of greentext on MRP servers, toggle-able via a cvar.
Context:
Greentext and red text appears on the round-end screen when antagonists perform their objectives or fail them.
Their members argue that green/red texting does not align with what MRP should be.
Their maintainer vote is equally split on the subject.
Pink texting is a proposed alternative to red/green texting
Context:
Pinktext comes from SS13, where the antagonist player can explain why they think they won or lost.
It’s a player-provided statement, rather than a strictly factual outcome.

This quote is included to reflect potential moderation issues that azalea could potentially inherit if pink text is merged.
How should azalea station handle these changes?
Don’t merge any of these changes at all (revert)
Merge the green/red text removal PR once in upstream
Merge pink text, but don’t remove green/red text (Not sure how this would work)
